Cross Media Publishing

Cross Media Publishing workflows allow you to send out content in multiple formats and media. While FLO Media Viewer is not a full-blown cross media publishing platform like DMP FLO Suite, it still provides you with a whole range of features to this end.

Local Publishing

For starters, FLO Media Viewer allows you to publish files from your local desktop. Just open the application, enter some settings, and create flash booklets. Or even better: open your InDesign document, and publish it from the Adobe InDesign CS3 or CS4 interface directly.

A lot of functionalities are included to make sure the created book will be ideal for your target market.

Cross Media Publishing workflows

FLO Media Viewer can also be integrated into workflows with cross media output. For Enfocus PowerSwitch or FullSwitch, for example, an easy-to-use configurator exists which allows you to create flash viewers from within any Switch Flow.

Similarly, FLO Media Viewer can be integrated into your other existing workflows. A comprehensive command line interface can be used for integration into any environment. Pre-defined profiles can be used for fast setup.

Publishing to various media

The resulting flash books can be published to a number of media, some of which are:

  • Embedding in your (or your customer's) website
  • Placing the viewer on CD
  • Mailing the viewer as a standalone document
  • Automatically uploading the viewer to FTP sites

Linking to existing content

Any FLO Media Viewer output can also be used as an interface on top of existing content. Hotspots (clickable regions) can be added to the viewer. These can open links to other websites or content, either in a new window, a popup in the viewer itself, or a frame next to the viewer.

This feature allows you (for example) to:

  • Create product catalogs with more details on each product in a popup
  • Create a booklet from which products can be added to a shopping basket
  • Put links on top of texts in the document
