Output possibilities

FLO Media Viewer creates flash books. And you have plenty of options to determine how the book will look and behave. But you can also produce a number of different output files:

  • Standalone version for desktop use
  • Version for use on your own (or your customer's) web server
  • Version for use with FLO Media Server

Standalone version

The standalone version of the viewer files is ideal for:

  • Testing output settings very quickly
  • Distribution of the entire viewer by email
  • Distribution of the viewer on your internal network
  • Adding viewers to carrier media such as USB, CD or DVD

Web publishing

The version for web publishing also contains all necessary files (including sliced portions of the images which are served to the client browser as needed). No additional components are needed on the server side to publish your files. You can simply put your files online, and send a link to the viewer to your customers. Or embed them in an iframe on your websites.

It's also possible to use javascript to communicate with the viewer, and add additional functionalities to your web application (such as annotation workflows, content gathering, ...).

FLO Media Server

Finally you may also choose to use FLO Media Server to put your files online. FLO Media Server comes with some commonly used workflow options, meaning that you don't have to develop your website to accomplish certain common tasks. FLO Media Server also slices images for you. And since the sliced images may take up some room (which you might not want to upload to your web server to preserve bandwith), this can be a considerable added value.
