Integration using Enfocus Switch
FLO Media Viewer can be integrated into your Switch Flows using the Configurator.
This allows you to call any of the pre-defined Export Settings, and convert incoming files (PDF, InDesign or images) into flash books. The books can be used for actual publishing (product catalogs embedded on websites, for example). But they can also be employed in workflows which can save you huge amounts of time.
Proofing and correction workflows are just one example. Files processed by Switch might require validation by an end user or account manager. Rather than sending the complete PDF file, it might be enough to send a flash viewer representation of it. The end user can't print this, but he can approve your artwork. And an account manager can get a very fast overview of errors found in the PDF file.
The configurator can call any Export Setting file, but also allows you to override certain values for your current Flow. This allows you to get a large amount of production flows up and running with a minimum of effort.
The following flow demonstrates a few possibilities. Normal books can be created, a separate directory creates preflight reports, and another one creates a viewer including separations. Every PDF that passes through is also stored in the PDF directory (this might be your prepress directory structure). And the final input option is to compare the incoming file with a pre-existing file in that directory (highlighting differences in the viewer between versions). The resulting viewer is uploaded to a web server, and an email is sent to the customer which includes a link to the viewer.
